How I discovered a break in the middle of disaster!

Well, I had gone downstairs to change over laundry (aka hiding for a precious few minutes of quiet sanity and reflection on the fact that it was late afternoon and I was still wearing pajamas). In the meantime, my darling cupboard explores found the canister of dry oatmeal. By the time I got back upstairs, they had dumped a CUPS of dry oatmeal on the floor and were playing in it. They even discovered how to slide across the floor on their bellies. Maddy even figured out that it was even easier to slide stark butt naked. So, of course she had no clothes on, which is why she isn't featured in the pictures. There's something weird about posting naked pictures online of your kids. But, instead of losing my head, like I initially thought I was going to do, I just decided to have a good laugh. I made myself a cup of tea, found the book I was reading (carefully hidden from sticky little fingers), and spent the next 45 MINUTES enjoying a quiet seat in the corner of the kitchen while my brood laughed and played with their food. If I ever need a break again, I will bring out Mr. Quaker Oats, my personal and cheap babysitter. Cleans up easy with a vaccuum too.

Awesome, awesome, awesome!! Wayy to funny! I love it! Great outlook on the whole thing Lisa! If only everything the kids did was as cute as that!

So funny, I can't believe you had the patience to just let them be as you read a book! I might have to try that out! But since I have boys I think clean up would be a little more difficult, you know oatmeal strung all over the house and them jumping off the counters! LOL
