Labor Day Weekend Camping Trip

We went camping at Fishhook Park this past weekend. Definitely a blast, but still a challenge with Sarah still waking up in the middle of the night for a bottle. Not so fun using the camp stove to warm up water at 3 AM. At least 6 oz of water heats up very quickly over an open flame.
We went with the White's and the Lamberson's, which meant we had 3 three years olds (or close enough) and 3 one year olds. We had to bring 3 of everything. 3 Balls, 3 plastic golf clubs, 3 sand buckets, 3 child sized camp chairs. Still, the 3 year old fought over everything.
Sarah spent the whole time trying to climb into the different camp chairs. She thinks that it is great fun to be a big kid. She wants her own chair, a real cup, and to feed herself everything she eats. Hard when breakfast consisted of oatmeal. She also was sick the entire trip with some kind of virus, which meant lots and lots of diarrhea.
Maddy made friends with a big girl from the next campsite over. She was six. She was very big girl. And she paid attention to Maddy, which made Maddy happy. But the girl and her older brother got on our nerves after the first day because they were always at our site. The boy kept trying to pick up the babies, and that made us mom's a little nervous. We had to ask them to leave too many times, but they kept coming back. Their parents didn't pay that much attention to them and I think they were craving some "family time". Poor kids.
Brice got the air mattress with the slow air leak. Not much sleep for him. Sarah blew out a poopy diaper all over my pajamas. Of course, I only brought one pair. Yuck. And it was freezing cold at night.
All in all a great weekend. But I'm glad to be home with hot water and my bed. And a shower to wash Sarah's bum when its all red and raw from the soupy poopies. Poor kid.
